Position: Full Time Medical Assistants
Department: Openings in the following offices: Pain Management, Orthopedics, ENT & Columbiana Pediatrics
Shift: Day Shift
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of a Medical Assistant is to perform assigned duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with the established procedures, and as directed by the Office Manager and/or licensed physician(s) to assure that a successful viable office is maintained at all times. You are responsible to perform selected nursing and administrative/clerical duties that assist inpatient care management, minor patient triage, administering first aid, performing laboratory and clinical tests, and assisting the physician in the office environment. Must care for a patient population which includes infants, adolescents and geriatrics, therefore, must be able to identify the special needs of each patient according to age and respond appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements/training:
· High school diploma required.
· Technical or Vocational training as a Medical Assistant required. Certification preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum of one year experience preferred. Experience performing prior authorizations.
Job Skills:
· Requires reading and understanding of moderately complex or detailed documents containing some unusual words and phrases. Requires arithmetic ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers. Some typing or word processing is required, general forms and/or internal memos or short letters. Requires computer skills for basic data entry and retrieval. Experience using and documenting in Electronic Health Records (EHR), or Electronic Medical Records(EMR). Ten finger keyboard typing skills are required. Experience performing prior authorizations preferred. BLS certification preferred but not required.

Position: Full Time Office Site Supervisor
Department: Salem Gastroenterology
Shift: Days
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of your position as a Site Supervisor is to perform assigned duties in an efficient manner, in accordance with established procedures and as directed by the Manager of Specialty offices to assure that a successful, viable office is maintained at all times. Your duty is to take ownership of all day today operation of the offices to include both surgery and gastroenterology daily workflows and responsibilities. These responsibilities include both clinical and clerical operations. You will be given g guidelines and direction but are expected to function with initiative and creativity with the objective of office efficiency. This position will work on special projects both independently and with the manager. The position will work closely with the manager in providing direction and office duties assignments to the employees. Position must interact with a patient population which includes the specialties of surgery and gastroenterology, therefore must be able to identify the special needs of each patient according to age and specialty to respond appropriately. Under the supervision of a licensed physician(s) and the manager performs selected administrative/clerical duties that assist in patient care management. QUALIFICATIONS
Educational Requirements/training:
Highschool diploma plus technical or vocational training. Diploma from Medical Assistant School preferred but not required.
Experience:
5 year’s minimum experience in office setting with clinical experience preferred. Surgery and gastroenterology experience a plus.
