Make a Difference...

Become a Volunteer

SRMC volunteers are very special people who have one thing in common: they want to help others and make a difference. Our volunteers are retirees, professionals, homemakers, students and people of all backgrounds, who live in our surrounding communities.

►What Our Volunteers Do

  • Escort patients and visitors to their destinations
  • Provide information and support to families in our Surgical Waiting Room
  • Greet hospital visitors at Lobby Information Desks
  • Perform clerical and general office duties
  • Help customers in the hospital’s Look Nook gift shop
  • Join our Teen Volunteer Program (Ages 16-19)

►How Do I Become a Volunteer?

  • Complete our Volunteer Application
  • Mail the completed application to: Volunteer Services, 1995 E. State St., Salem, Ohio 44460
Note: Prior to being accepted into the program, prospective volunteers must successfully undergo a background check, drug screen and TB test (all of which can be provided by SRMC at no charge). Prospective volunteers must also have the Covid-19 vaccination and/or an approved health or religious exemption form.
►MOBILE MEALS OF SALEM

Mobile Meals of Salem partners with SRMC to provide meals to housebound residents in Salem and Perry Township. Volunteers meet at SRMC to pick up the meals and deliver them to clients, usually working in teams of two. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and volunteer drivers are typically assigned a schedule of between 2 - 4 days a month.

Mobile Meals volunteers receive a free lunch provided by the hospital after completing their deliveries for the day. For more information on becoming a Mobile Meals volunteer, visit www.salemmobilemeals.com or call the Mobile Meals Coordinator at 330-332-2160.

Congratulations to our 2024 Volunteer of the Year, Sandra Quinn!

Sandra began volunteering with Salem Mobile Meals in 2019 when she moved to the area. She enjoys spending time with her cat, cooking, feeding others, and participating in a 50s and 60s classic cars group. Shown with Quinn is Dr. Anita Hackstedde, SRMC President/CEO.

Thank you, Sandra for all you do in service to help our hospital and community.
